Land Rover wishes it’s employees a Merry Christmas

We all know that Christmas is a time to relax with families, exchange gifts and see the smile on other people’s face when you give them your present. Well this Christmas, Land Rover called back hundreds of workers at thier Solihill factory from their Christmas holiday’s so they can keep up with demand, a great way to up worker moral!

Workers originally had a two-week break but that was cut short by a day as they had to put in a special Christmas shift at the Solihill Factory in Birmingham.

Demand for Land Rover’s and Range Rover’s have rocketted with models like the Range Rover Sport, Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Defender doing particularly well.

Land Rover spokesman Nick O’Donnell has tried to explain the decision, “The reason for opening up for one day is to cope with high demand. It is to ensure we make good progress on getting the cars finished and ready.

“It has been a very good sales performance this year for Land Rover. Everyone has been talking about the Evoque at Halewood and the awards it has won and the sales achieved but also, across the board at Solihull, there has been a very strong performance.

“We have seen strong growth in emerging markets such as China, Russia, India etc. In the year to the end of November, we have seen Range Rover up by 27.4 per cent, Range Rover Sport by 18.9 per cent, Discovery by 16.5 per cent and the Defender by 10.1 per cent.”

One reason why the sales have gone up is the rapid rise in Land Rover leasing and Range Rover Sport Leasing. Car leasing has become ever popular because it is not one big payment, it is a set monthly amount which attracts more people to buy it so they don’t have to break the bank or get out a loan to buy the car.

So lease a Land Rover soon as there is not many left as the demand for them is extremely high!

Buying Used Office Furniture Instead Of New

We all like to save a bit of money whenever we can. A very easy way to reduce your expenses is to buy second hand furnishings. Used office furniture is a great place to start whether you’re a business or not.

There are a number of ways to accumulate second hand furniture from businesses, the most reliable and easiest would be to find a business that specialise in second hand office furniture.

The second and less successful is to dig through the rubbish of a professional building just in case they’ve thrown out something useful. The last of the three options and the least likely to work would be to ask a business directly if they have any unwanted furniture that they will be throwing out.

The obvious thing that a business would get first are normally desks and cabinets, usually this means the old desks that are still in good condition are being replaced by the new ones. They will be sturdy and simple, perfect for something like a student residence or a small business and will often be cheap or sometimes even free.

When you’re looking to buy used office furniture there are often something’s that are bit more unusual than just desks and chairs, like a conference table or a water cooler. Other items could include old paintings, floor mats, end tables and even lamps.

These are the advantages when you buy used office furniture online as you’re able to browse a much wider selection than if you just look round in one offices rubbish or in a warehouse.

This is perfect for somebody running a small business as it can get very expensive, and with the tough economy it’s often the case that you can’t afford to buy new office furniture. That’s what makes second hand office furniture so good as it’s still in great condition the only thing is its not new.

Make Dermalogica Your God-Send

If you are fed up with your skin issues, and just want them to stop, here’s a suggestion; Dermalogica Ultra Calming Barrier Repair.

The Barrier Repair is a unique anhydrous moisturiser, which means it contains no water. It reinforces  protective barriers, and melts gently into your sensitive skin, so it won’t feel heavy or clog your pores.

It is easy for people to buy the product that is completely wrong for them, simply because it is human nature. No-one tends to walk into a shop and look at the ingredients of something like a moisturiser. The majority of people don’t know which extracts are good or bad, and that is perfectly normal. But with Dermalogica, it is so important to make sure that all ingredients meet the needs of the specific skin type the product is catering to.

Want an ideal moisturiser for using before applying your make up? This is perfect, because it is a smooth, even base and quickly absorbs into your skin, so you’ll feel the benefits a lot faster, and save some time! As well as reinforcing your skin’s lipid barrier, it reduces irritation, therefore giving you healthier great looking skin! It is recommended for sensitised, reactive and recently resurfaced skin, being a very gentle soothing cleanser instead of some of the medium weight creams.

To get further details on this amazing product, please feel free to take a look at our Beauty Flash for news and Dermalogica reviews, and see the whole range while you’re there!

Is Your Faithful Van Starting To Become Unreliable?

So your lovely old faithful van is starting to become unreliable and starting to show its age but you haven’t got the money to go out and buy a new one.

Well have you ever wondered if commercial vehicle leasing is right for you, as there are benefits to both you and your business?

Two advantages of commercial vehicle leasing are that you can reclaim the VAT and the rental price can be offset for business use each month.

When you sign up to the term of your contract you must remember to try and continue for the whole duration as if you terminate the contract early you will almost certainly incur a penalty charge.  Penalties also apply if you go over your contract mileage so make sure you check your mileage allowance too.

The other benefit (which is more for you), is that you have the chance of driving a much nicer van by leasing one as if you had to buy it, it would probably not of been in your budget.

So, if you are looking to finance a vehicle but want a minimal initial outlay, then leasing a van could be the perfect solution for your next choice of van.

Decorating The Bedroom

So I have finally persuaded my husband that it’s about time we re-decorated our bedroom. The walls are all looking rather dull and the woodwork, well; let’s just say it’s a rather “off white” colour!

When it comes to deciding on the new colour I have to admit that it is normally my choice of colour that wins whilst my husband has the joy of painting it on the walls.

We have had the colour aubergine on our walls for several years now and fancied something a little brighter. I really wanted pink as I have seen some gorgeous pink cushion covers and some beautiful new rugs to accessorise the room with but that was a clear and definite no from my hubby!

I do feel slightly outnumbered in my house with my two boys and husband and feel that the colour blue seems to dominate many of the rooms!

So the new colour to be is teal and can’t wait until it’s all done, when all the walls are nice and fresh and the woodwork is back to its nice glossy white colour.

I may wait until after the room is all decorated to drop into the conversation that I would like to change all the bedroom furniture too!!

Have You Thought About Car Leasing?

So you have decided that you are going to treat yourself to a new car but now you have to decide whether to buy one or do you, like many others, choose to lease one for the first time?

It seems nowadays that cars depreciate more in value so I guess one advantage of leasing is you don’t have to worry how much your car is worth when looking at replacing it.

With leasing, there is normally a small deposit to pay which is usually around 3 month’s payment in advance and if you weigh up buying a car it’s a much smaller sum of money to part with. The contracts are normally fixed for around 2-3 years giving you the option to renew your contract at the end of the term.

If you run your own business then it’s a popular choice for many. For example you could have a BMW 3 series contract hire which then allows you to reclaim 100% of the VAT on servicing and 50% of the VAT on the financial rental cost.

BMW leasing is extremely popular with many as it allows you to have the pleasure of driving a car that you may not have had the pleasure of driving had you had to go out and buy one!
