Hearing about people’s holidays are great when everything has gone to plan without any delays at the airport to having the sun shining the whole duration of the holiday, but listening to the disasters of someone’s holiday isn’t so great.
Friends of ours decided to hire a car on holiday as they were staying out of the main town and needed a car to get out and about to the local supermarket and beaches.
When at the local car hire company they decided they may as well book a car for the whole duration of their stay and when asked for his driving licence, unfortunately it was still lying on his bedside table in England!
Luckily enough they had family joining them the next day but they had already left for the airport so fortunately they were able to get someone to get the driving licence from their house and then use local courier services to whizz the driving licence down the motorway to them at the airport hotel ready for them to bring out the next morning.
Hopefully that will never ever happen to me as I have a list of lists with everything on there from what is to be packed in hand luggage right through to what we will be wearing on the flight home but thank goodness for the speed of the local couriers!
