Land Rover wishes it’s employees a Merry Christmas
We all know that Christmas is a time to relax with families, exchange gifts and see the smile on other people’s face when you give them your present. Well this Christmas, Land Rover called back hundreds of workers at thier Solihill factory from their Christmas holiday’s so they can keep up with demand, a great way to up worker moral!
Workers originally had a two-week break but that was cut short by a day as they had to put in a special Christmas shift at the Solihill Factory in Birmingham.
Demand for Land Rover’s and Range Rover’s have rocketted with models like the Range Rover Sport, Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Defender doing particularly well.
Land Rover spokesman Nick O’Donnell has tried to explain the decision, “The reason for opening up for one day is to cope with high demand. It is to ensure we make good progress on getting the cars finished and ready.
“It has been a very good sales performance this year for Land Rover. Everyone has been talking about the Evoque at Halewood and the awards it has won and the sales achieved but also, across the board at Solihull, there has been a very strong performance.
“We have seen strong growth in emerging markets such as China, Russia, India etc. In the year to the end of November, we have seen Range Rover up by 27.4 per cent, Range Rover Sport by 18.9 per cent, Discovery by 16.5 per cent and the Defender by 10.1 per cent.”
One reason why the sales have gone up is the rapid rise in Land Rover leasing and Range Rover Sport Leasing. Car leasing has become ever popular because it is not one big payment, it is a set monthly amount which attracts more people to buy it so they don’t have to break the bank or get out a loan to buy the car.
So lease a Land Rover soon as there is not many left as the demand for them is extremely high!
